Hallo Thomas – how long have you been part of VIER?
I started at VIER in May 2021, so I am now two years in.
You are VIER Sales Manager – what are you doing?
As a sales manager in direct sales, I mainly take care of the acquisition of new customers and new business. But the job also includes other exciting things: My tasks include representing the company at trade fairs and events, presenting product features in our famous webinar series VIER TV and the strategic preparation of sales measures. So my work is really exciting and varied.
What do you particularly like about your job?
What I like most is the contact with the many different people – colleagues, partners, consultants and our prospective clients from the most diverse sectors with their different needs and challenges. I am just a very communicative person.
What experience and skills from previous jobs help you in your work?
I completed my training as an management assistant in IT-systems at a large, well-known magenta giant in the telecommunications industry and then worked in sales there for a decade. This experience really helps me in my current job. The basic technical understanding means that I have already been able to place one or two special solutions with customers.
What is your favourite dish and can you cook it yourself?
Good question! I love to cook and eat, preferably Italian, because in my eyes it's a simple yet totally varied cuisine. If I had to narrow it down to one dish, I would probably choose a good and solid "lasagne al forno". It always works and is a bit like the big brother of the popular spaghetti bolognese. And of course I can cook it myself. 😉 Since it's a big dish, I usually cook it for a lot of friends and family to enjoy it with over a good glass of wine.
