"We are VIER!" Today: Sinan Sönmez, VIER Business Development Manager
Hello Sinan, since when have you been part of VIER?
In December 2022, I will have been a contractual member of the VIER family for five years! But even before that I was closely connected, because I worked at Vodafone and was responsible for 4Com. So in a way, I just switched sides.
You are a VIER Business Development Manager - what do you do?
As a technology provider, we supply our partners and resellers with our cloud-based technology and I am the "single point of contact" for my resellers. Specifically, this means that I accompany, coordinate and support all project enquiries - starting in the pre-sales phase, through the presentation of the solutions and ending with the conclusion of the contract, including pricing. I like to describe myself as the bridge or interface between VIER, our reseller and their customers. I enjoy that. In a perfect world, of course, everything would be smooth and there would be no escalations. In reality, however, life is sometimes not so simple :-) My tasks therefore also include escalation management.
What do you particularly like about your job?
I like putting together the right solution for the customer from our product portfolio for interesting, varied and challenging requirements - especially in the area of artificial intelligence. What's particularly good is that I have a strong team behind me. This consists of dedicated customer success managers, technical consultants and, if necessary, integration specialists.
What experience or skills from previous jobs help you in your work?
On the one hand, of course, the fact that I have known 4Com/VIER for almost 16 years now, and that does not only apply to the solutions and products, but also to the interpersonal level and the network that has been built up. In addition, I also used to work in the telecommunications industry and have therefore been familiar with value-added services etc. for quite some time.
And where can you be found when you are not working?
For me, exercise and nature are the best balance to work. During the pandemic peak, this was unfortunately limited to my own garden and my own small fitness room. Now I take every opportunity again for smaller and larger trips and am enthusiastic about history and culture.
